Joanique was up until the 1960’s a working farm with the main buildings having been constructed around the time of the French revolution.
The buildings are all of local stone and the Oak that is present throughout the buildings is again all local. The roof on the main house was completely restored in 2004.
Over the years the house has been extensively modernized and now comprises:

Lobby

An entrance lobby of 12m2 (120 square feet, and Currently used as an office) which leads on to the main lounge. The lounge is some 42m2 (420ft2) in size and is surrounded on two sides by a minstrel gallery which currently serves as a library. The large stone fireplace is functional and provides a focal point in the lounge which is finished with natural stone walls. There is a formal dining area within the lounge.

Lounge

The lounge leads on to the modern kitchen of 27m2 (270ft2), which also serves as the daily indoor dining area. A concealed door leads to a staircase to the first floor where a bedroom of 27m2 (270ft2) with ensuite facilities is located (W/C, Shower and wash basin).

Kitchen

The kitchen also leads on, via an oak and glass door to a patio outdoor dining area which overlooks the Valley and lake. A stone staircase leads down to a Lily and fish pond and the rear of the farmhouse.
