Location
Joanique is situated within the Commune of Roquecor deep in the rolling Quercy hills of South west France. Roquecor (Tarn et Garonne) is a small but very lively village of just over 400 inhabitants.
Situated an Hour and ten minutes from Bordeaux airport, an hour and five minutes from Bergerac airport and an Hour and ten minutes from Toulouse airport, the village is exceedingly well served by many low cost and regular airlines. (Not to mention world class shopping opportunities) If the train is more to your liking then Agen the capital of the Lot et Garonne (Department 47) and the TGV line is only 25 minutes away and a trip to Paris takes under four Hours. Similarly the picturesque Bastide town of Villeneuve Sur Lot is only twenty minutes from Roquecor.
To the west about forty miles away on the river Lot is Cahors, and equally close the glorious scenery of the Perrigord valleys.(Sarlat, Rocamadour etc)
Going further afield the wild beaches of the Atlantic are some three hours away to the West, whilst to the South East, just after Carcassonne, the Calmer Beaches of the Mediterranean beckon. In winter the ski slopes of the Pyrennees are but only three hours south of the village and Andorra a bit nearer. Barcelona and the Costa Brava are again only about four hours away. All in all Roquecor may be isolated but it is an exceedingly good jumping off point for many different activities.
