Closer to home there is the bustling market towm of Montaigu de Qurecy, some three miles to the East of Roquecor. Here you will find a Tourist office, and numerous small businesses ( Which includes: Three garages, a supermarket, two doctors, a dentist, a chemist, a Vet, Two hairdressers, a beauty salon and at least four restaurants and Bars) However, it is the vibrant market on a Saturday morning that attracts visitors from all over the County. Anything that can not be obtained in Montaigu is usually obtained in Agen or Villeneuve (Including excellent Hospital facilities)
Facilities and Activities
Roquecor has a well stocked village shop and Post office, and a Café that is the life and soul of the village. The village has events running all year round and the local Committee responsible for “Entertainment” puts on events throughout the year. These include a huge six hundred place outdoor extravaganza on the 14th of July, A beer festival in August, a Bonfire BBQ in October, Numerous Lotto and Card nights through the Winters. An Easter Ball a May Festival and even an International BBQ Championship!
On a daily basis the village is however, quiet with great pride still being taken by the local population in maintaining a clean and well presented village. Wednesdays still sees Petanque (Boules team) on the village green and winter sees the local hunters discussing the days hunt over a glass or two of Pastis in the bar!
